Bits and pieces of daily commentary on the life as a fly-fisherman living the autumn of his life through the art of sculpting the images of his passion in the warmth of wood

“ MY FAVORITE MEAL”

“ One Mouse , is worth a 1,000 bugs”
This, Twelve inch Brown glimpsing a snagged Deerhair Mouse by Pat Cohen is My latest creation. Looks pretty good right now in my PIE SAFE GALLERY, I wonder how long it will stay there? “ CHRISTMAS TIMES A COMING “.

“ FATAL ATTRACTION “

“ FATAL”
This Twelve inch Rainbow is attracted to Aileen Lane’s beautiful fly,
THE FATAL ATTRACTOR. I LOVE COLLABORATIONS ! The beautiful driftwood was found for me by my friend, Joey Monteleone, the fly created by Aileen Lane, ambassador to the MUSEUM OF FLY FISHING, author and master fly tier.
My collaborators of course are IMAGINATION, MEMORIES, AND POSSIBILITIES.

“ LIKE MY STYLE “ ?

” LEAPERS CEEEPERS”
The interesting thing about my Stylized creations is, folks either don’t care for them at all, they LOVE UM ,or, they don’t know “ WHAT TO MAKE OF THEM” . This I KNOW, I love creating them as I never know what they’ll decide THEY want to be!

“ WILD IN THE NET”

Nine inch wild Brown presented in a beautiful little creek landing net.
I really like these presentations, they are very realistic and often photos are arranged this way, Trout Art as well.

“ FATAL ATTRACTION “

” FATAL ATTRACTION” No, just intrigued with a beautiful fly tied by Aileen Lane called “ THE FATAL ATTRACTOR”. This Nine inch Brookie is schulpted from Tupelo wood and presented on a Manzanita branch with a Sweet Gum tree cut round.

“ MIDAS TOUCH”

“ GOLD AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW, FINNY VARIETY”
Golden Trout, Golden Rainbow Hybrid, and Palomino Trout.

” RAINBOWS and CEDAR”

Of all my creations, I love STYLIZED works the best. It’s just I never know exactly how they’ll turn out. With realistic works I pretty much determine what’s it’s going to be. With STYLIZED creations, it’s a joint effort and the WOOD has A LOT to say about it, and, that’s what makes it both challenging and FUN. ( From MY point of view).ww

” BROOKIED UP “

” TO THE NET”

Sometimes I just have to keep them, THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES!
This Eight inch wild one is created from Tupelo and presented in a beautiful Brookie net from Kenny Nelson. The driftwood base is Box Elder found for me by my friend Joey Monteleone.
Destination, MY PERSONAL COLLECTION! I’m hoping to get a couple of more of these nets to create something I can offer .

” UP CLOSE and PERSONAL “

” IM EATEN THAT”!

A Fish eye view, and a man’s eye view, these collaborations
have been a joy to create. Each time I view one I think about my friends that had a part in it.

” DECEIVED “

IM EATEN THAT!

I love collaborations . This creation is carved From Tupelo swamp wood and presented on driftwood found for me by Joey Monteleone, the Manzanita branch selected for me by Artist Pat Reichner, and the fly by Pat Cohen.
